He was playing for the Cuban National Baseball Team with a dream to one day make it to the Major Leagues. In the same year\, Pe a defected from Cuba. Given only 24 hours to make the choice\, Pe a jumped out of a bathroom window\, ran into an awaiting vehicle\, and left everything behind in pursuit of his dream to play Major League Baseball in the United States. As scary and heart-wrenching as it was to leave family and friends behind\, Pe a refers to that escape as his window of opportunity it led to a 12-year-long career in major league baseball. Pe a broke into the big leagues in 2005 as a member of the Atlanta Braves before joining the Kansas City Royals for four seasons before his Tigers arrival. Today\, Brayan joins a long line of former Tigers as the West Michigan Whitecaps Team Manager.
