39 percent of people in Kent County can’t afford to meet their basic needs and 1 in 5 children struggle with hunger. On June 21, from 10:00 AM to 1:30 pm, Heart of West Michigan United Way will help feed hungry families in Kent County by hosting Food From the Heart. This community-wide event will bring together hundreds of volunteers to assemble ready-to-prepare meals that will be distributed through Feeding America West Michigan Food Bank to food pantries across Kent County. If we bring together our goal of 300 volunteers, in just three hours, we can assemble 60,000 meals! Two shifts available: 10 AM - 11:30 AM AND 12 PM - 1:30 PM • AGES 5 & UP • SNACKS PROVIDED •
