Webinar: Can Michigan’s Cannabis Industry Achieve Equity and Prosperity
Michigan Sustainable Business Forum and Lakeshore Sustainability Forum will host an online roundtable on health equity and social justice. Discussions will center around disproportionate impacts from COVID-19 and racial justice in a conversation that elevates the need to collectively address both historical and systemic inequities in our businesses, institutions, and communities in Muskegon County and the Lakeshore. Four local leaders will share their perspectives on current impacts to physical and mental health, health disparities, and the need for change. Panelists will also discuss how businesses, institutions and individuals can provide support and contribute to shared solutions. We will look for insight from our experts on how to collectively re-imagine a future where our systems and structures are just and equitable, and action is taken toward creating a community where all people are prosperous and healthy. Panelists include: Angelita Valdez, CEO & Owner, Servicios de Esperanza, LLC (Services of Hope, LLC), Leader & Organizer, Latinos Working for the Future Alexis Dye, Communications and Development Manager, Hackley Community Care, Muskegon Health Disparities Coalition Kathy Moore, Health Officer/Public Health Director, Muskegon County Julia Rupp, Executive Director, HealthWest Moderated by Carissa Patrone, Equity Program Manager, West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum and Jocelyn Hines, Program Officer, Community Foundation for Muskegon County, Founder & Chair, Muskegon Young Black Professionals
