Job Title: Communications Intern
Reports to: Success Navigators, Building Bridges Through Education
Length of internship: June 2022-April2023, 20-25 hours per week
Pay: $12

Building Bridges Through Education (BBTE), powered by the West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, seeks a dynamic, self-starter to assist with marketing and communication efforts. The Communication Intern will assist the BBTE Success Navigators in implementing organizational communications and marketing strategies. This role will work independently and, in a team, to fulfill organizational goals and initiatives related to programming and events.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with posting event promotions, fellowship recruitment and press releases on social media
  • Assist Success Navigators with segmenting and developing marketing strategies
  • Assist with the creation and editing of Canva presentations for weekly meetings and events such as Fellowship cohort sessions, informational meetings, Mixtape series, and The Summit
  • Assist with designing and ordering of promotional materials such as t-shirts and stickers
  • Assist with content creation that will excite and engage existing followers in our LinkedIn group
  • Assist with mailing list maintenance
  • Assist with regular communication with BBTE participants and outside consultants
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled undergraduate student at the Sophomore, Junior, or senior level
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
  • Ability to work effectively within an ethnic, cultural, and socially diverse population
  • Ability to work collegially and collaborative
  • Excellence in providing and modeling quality customer service
  • Communicates effectively in English and Spanish
  • Familiarity with Office 365, Canva, Hootsuite, Constant Contact, and Text-em-all is a plus
