Psychiatric Technician

Pay: Based on education and experience (Hourly/Non-Exempt)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required
  • Preferred:
    • Six months of post-high school education in Behavioral Sciences or a related field
    • CNA certification
    • 1-2 years of college coursework
  • Ability to work with individuals experiencing mental health and behavioral challenges
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
  • Valid Michigan driver's license may be required

Responsibilities

  • Support patients in hospital and residential settings
  • Assist with activities of daily living, including personal care and hygiene
  • Provide emotional support and promote a therapeutic environment
  • Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation
  • Document patient progress and incidents
  • Support treatment programming and community activities
