What You Will Be Doing
Multisystemic Therapy (MST) is an evidence-based practice which utilizes intensive, ecological interventions directed at adolescents and their families, with the collaboration of community-based resources such as caseworkers, probation officers, and school professionals. Multisystemic Therapy for Problem Sexual Behavior (MST-PSB) is a clinical adaptation of Multisystemic Therapy that is targeted to adolescents who have committed sexual offenses or demonstrated persistent sexual behaviors which present a risk to themselves or others. Both MST and MST-PSB have been proven effective at decreasing problem antisocial behaviors and reducing the need for out-of-home placements for troubled youth.
Working as an MST and MST-PSB Therapist, you will provide model-adherent, intensive, in-home clinical treatment to a diverse population of adolescents with delinquent behaviors and/or problem sexual behavior, along with their families. You will provide confidential and culturally responsive mental health and substance use therapy to diverse youth aged 12-17 who are diagnosed with severe emotional disturbance. You will demonstrate passion and cultural competence working with racially marginalized families, diverse communities, and LGBTQ youth. In this position, you will develop and document clear clinical conceptualizations and treatment plans that are individualized and measurable, and developed in collaboration with the client/family and others involved on the care team. You must maintain high accessibility to clients, and commit to a non-traditional but flexible schedule that is based on families’ availability. Additionally, you will be part of a rotation of on-call shifts and be available after-hours; when on call, you must be able to go to families’ homes quickly after hours as needed.
What We Require
- MST Therapist requires a Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field.
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LLMSW/LMSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC/LPC) preferred; Limited License Psychologist (LLP) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LLMFT/LMFT) considered. Clinicians with limited licenses will be considered.
- A valid Michigan drivers’ license.
- A minimum of one-year experience in clinical settings working with youth and/or families.
You will have knowledge of the DSM V, co-occurring disorders, substance use disorders, culturally responsive interventions, evidence-based and promising practice interventions. You will possess the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment. The ideal candidate will be flexible and adaptive to changes in policies and procedures, assist in meeting outcome measures, and provide excellent clinical service to consumers. Priority consideration will be given to qualified candidates who are fluent in English and Spanish.
