Skilled Trades Recruiter Job Summary:
The Skilled Trades Recruiter’s primary responsibility is to fill related job orders within their specialty. This requires three primary focuses including but not limited to sourcing and recruiting talent for job orders, building and maintaining a multipurpose candidate matrix, and conducting inside sales activities to Prospects and Clients. The Recruiter exercises discretionary judgment in administering Express systems and procedures in recruiting, hiring, and assigning associates to clients. Skilled Trades Recruiters are expected to build and maintain a strong core of associates with a variety of job skills and fill Skilled Trades job orders quickly and efficiently. Recruiters must use consultative sales techniques as they persistently make sales contacts. Strong phone and interpersonal skills are essential, and the ability to fulfill all aspects of the CARE Promise.
 
Skilled Trades Recruiter Job Responsibilities

  • Cross-trained and able to complete the duties of Employment Specialist (Industrial), and Recruiting Specialist if/when business demands
  • Fill 100% of all qualified job orders with urgency
    • Qualify and take thorough and complete job orders.
    • Investigate positions through client site tours, and outside research for greater understanding of skills and position requirements
    • Coordinate and control the job order process, working closely with the Sales Representative and Client.
    • Set firm timeline with client on start date and maintain job order control.
    • Ensure the job order is fillable based on the availability of associates and the client’s timeline.
    • Use the automated system to interview, assign, fill orders, and maintain clients.
  • Make 25 MPC Calls weekly and additional inside sales calls daily
    • Assist with appointment setting for the Sales Representative, Franchisee, and/or scheduling appointments for themselves.
    • Convert 100% of local Employment Verification Calls into sales calls and/or recruiting calls.
    • Take advantage of every phone interaction to MPC associates, gain additional information, and determine the next appropriate step
    • Complete dedicated outbound sales call “bubble” time on a daily basis. This should result in a minimum of 40 calls per week.
    • Document all sales activities in the automated system and schedule a future contact.
  • Source, recruit, interview, and retain a qualified pool of associates
    • Develop and implement a targeted sourcing and recruiting plan for candidate matrix positions.
    • Recruit for passive (sourced) and active candidates to create and maintain a pool of commonly requested Skilled Trades positions.
    • Adhere to the Express Employee Selection Process.
    • Schedule accordingly to conduct a minimum of 12 interviews per week, and present qualified candidates to clients for consideration (combination of MPC and live job).
    • Document all details of the interview in the automated system.
    • Complete a minimum of two Employment Verification calls on every associate prior to assignment.
    • Maintain candidate control and ensure high satisfaction levels by consistently communicating with associates pre and post placement/assignment.
    • Maintain a list of potential candidate/associate email addresses and send a monthly “newsletter” to candidates in conjunction with Marketing Manager and/or Director of Operations
  •  Generate and expand business with existing and new accounts
    • Broaden and diversify the client base by cross selling the full range of service offerings.
    • Recognize and utilize the tools available as sources for sales leads and additional communication.
    • Consistently build and maintain relationships with clients and prospects through a minimum of 40 connects weekly and a commitment to weekly updates to clients with current/open job orders.
    • Consistently perform client visits.
    • Invite clients and prospects to marketing and training events.
    • Maintain client control throughout the entire Job Order Process.
    • Ensure high satisfaction levels by following the Express Quality Control Process.
  •  Increase office and team effectiveness through daily communication
    • Attend huddles to review appropriate automated system reports.
    • Work closely with all team members to ensure job orders are filled in a timely manner.
    • Work with outside Sales Representatives to synchronize sales and recruiting.
  • Conduct business in accordance with Express Guidelines and applicable Federal/State Legal Guidelines
    • Develop, maintain reference materials and work in accordance with applicable employment-related laws and regulations, including, but not limited to the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Equal Pay Act, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission regulations, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and Fair Credit Reporting Act, as they relate to employment.
    • Develop and maintain professional knowledge of the market, staffing industry, and pertinent labor laws.
    • Adhere to the Express system.
    • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the staffing and placement services offered by Express as well as pricing techniques and strategies.
    • Utilize research, community activities, and training opportunities to develop awareness
  • Commit to meeting regularly with Team Leader and/or Franchisee for continued development
    • Learn and use situational leadership language in meetings
    • Prepare reports and provide metrics/activity levels to Team Leader and/or Franchisee prior to scheduled meetings
    • Commit to a quarterly Individual Development Plan (IDP)
  • Perform other related duties as necessary and assigned 
    • May be required to compose routine correspondence and reports.
    • May be required to resolve timecard and billing inquiries to ensure accurate, timely paychecks/invoices.
    • May be required to assist with collections of delinquent accounts.
 
Skilled Trades Recruiter Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, psychology, or a related field preferred but not required
  • Previous full cycle recruiting experience required; a mixture of agency and corporate recruiting is preferred
  • Must be able to work effectively under stress
  • Occasional trips to client locations require travel and potential exposure to weather
  • Occasional out-of-town trips may be required
  • Should possess or develop a thorough understanding of Internet search capabilities and Internet recruiting techniques.
