What You'll Do:
As a Commercial Insurance Client Manager, you'll be at the heart of our client experience-building trusted, long-term partnerships with business leaders by truly understanding their operations, risks, and goals. You'll step into an established portfolio of commercial clients and work side-by-side with experienced Client Executives to deliver a proactive, high-touch service model that goes far beyond policy management.This is a role for someone who enjoys thinking strategically, asking great questions, and being a steady, trusted presence for clients year-round. For the right person, it's also a launching point for future leadership opportunities within our organization. Additionally, the Client Manager will play a key role in shaping the client experience by:
- Managing and servicing a portfolio of commercial clients with a focus on accuracy, responsiveness, and long-term satisfaction
- Partnering closely with commercial client executives on new and renewal business to develop thoughtful, comprehensive coverage strategies
- Gathering and analyzing risk information to prepare coverage summaries and renewal materials that support strong recommendations
- Participating in pre-renewal strategy conversations to anticipate changes, strengthen relationships, and deliver value
- Getting to know your clients' businesses-asking insightful questions about their plans and tailoring stewardship programs to support their goals
- Maintaining consistent, proactive communication throughout the year to build trust and confidence
- Overseeing the marketing process for new and renewal business, including proposals, binders, endorsements, and certificates
- Collaborating with carrier underwriters to design smart, practical solutions for each client
- Ensuring policies and endorsements are accurate, compliant, and delivered on time
- Serving as a reliable point of contact for client and carrier inquiries related to policies, claims, or service needs
- Keeping client files organized and current by tracking outstanding items and following through
- Contributing to team success by supporting sales and service standards, improving processes, and embracing agency technology
- Staying current on insurance products, market trends, and carrier updates so you can confidently advise clients
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
- 3–5 or more years of experience in commercial insurance, underwriting, or marketing with an agency, brokerage, or insurance company
- Michigan Property & Casualty license required
- Organized, dependable, and able to balance multiple priorities
- Strong communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and build trust
- Tech-savvy and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); knowledge of Applied Epic is a plus
- High commitment to quality and client satisfaction
