Part-Time HR Generalist

Who You Are:
We are in search of a hard-working problem solver to join our family-owned business as a part-time Human Resources Generalist. You will process payroll, facilitate all recruitment efforts, help with employee questions and manage all things HR in support of our 40 employees. This role works cross-functionally to ensure effective policies, program and practices are in place. This 12-20 hour per week position will be onsite a few days a week (that work with your schedule!) in our Grandville location. In this role, you will:
- First and foremost, resonate with our core values and bring a positive, helpful mindset.
- Use your bachelor's degree in HR or a related field, SHRM-CP or PHR certification (preferred), and 3+ years of broad HR experience to continue driving our HR function forward.
- Apply your strong knowledge of HRIS/payroll systems, (ADP preferred) to effectively manage time and attendance, process payroll, and generate reports.
- Address employee concerns, mediate conflicts, and provide support for managers in the development of employees, documentation of employee performance, and disciplinary actions to actively assist in conflict resolution.
- Understand business needs and compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations including ADA, COBRA, ERISA, ESTA, FLSA, HIPAA, OSHA, and Title VII, to employ best practices in administering related processes.
- Assist managers in the recruitment process by posting the job, completing phone screens, facilitate pre-employment background checks on all prospective employees, and lead all orientation efforts.
- Lead initiatives to enhance employee engagement, foster a positive work environment, and improve retention.
- Coordinate performance reviews, assist with goal setting, and provide managers with tools for performance evaluations and employee development.
- Administer all open enrollment activities including selecting benefit plans, communicating changes, and monitoring all changes for accuracy within the HRIS
- Maintain accurate employee records, Prepare HR Metrics and Reports, manage documentation for audits and compliance.
- Identify training needs, coordinate professional development, and support leadership in skills building initiatives.
- Work closely with employees and leadership to effectively administer leaves of absences, administer the 401(k) plan, insurance benefits, unemployment claims, and worker's compensation claims.
- Provide guidance and support to leadership from culture to compliance, and everything in between!
