  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring the efficient management of resources and facilities.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including donors, partners, volunteers, community members, and various educational community organizations.
  • Provide leadership and direction to staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Drive fundraising efforts in partnership with the Development Director through grant writing, donor cultivation, and special events.
  • Manage budgets and financial resources effectively, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Work with investment advisors and the Board to ensure fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities are met.
  • Represent the nature center in public forums, advocating for environmental conservation and education initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Foster a culture of environmental stewardship and sustainability within the organization and broader community.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and experience relevant to this role preferred
  • Minimum 2-3 years in a leadership role or equivalent management experience, preferably in non-profit or education
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including public speaking, grant writing, and policy development
  • Broad knowledge of natural science
  • Experience building external relationships with key constituencies
  • Financial acumen and an understanding of the Institute’s investments
  • Strong organizational and management skills
  • High ethical standards of conduct, including trustworthiness and ability to maintain confidential information
  • Enthusiasm for the mission of the organization and the ability to represent the organization to external stakeholders
  • Program experience

We offer a salary range of $90,000 to $110,000 and a benefits package, including an onsite housing option, retirement plan, and health insurance. If you are interested in being considered for this opportunity, please submit your resume and a cover letter using the link below.
