Sales Manager
Cascade Engineering Inc. based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a privately held, woman owned multi-business manufacturer supporting multiple brands. We manufacture for and market to a variety of industries including solid waste and recycling, automotive, commercial truck & bus, furniture, material handling, and renewable energy.
Cascade Cart Solutions, a Cascade Engineering Company, was established in 1989 and we have produced over 38 million injection molded carts for the solid waste and recycling industry. We offer over 35 years’ experience manufacturing and managing cart assembly, distribution, and recovery projects with a wide variety of scopes and sizes. Our facility in Grand Rapids, MI, was built specifically to handle the manufacturing and testing of large containers, housing the largest press in North America – a 9000 ton injection molding machine. Cascade is a leader in providing solutions to the solid waste and recycling industry. We pride ourselves in designing products, technology, and services in collaboration with our customers. Cascade was the first U.S. based cart manufacturer to be ISO9001 registered, which is a standardized quality system recognized internationally that ensures quality products, timely delivery, and superior service. Scope of Position
Join our sales team as a Municipal Sales Manager! This role will focus on expanding our municipal customer base by targeting new business opportunities, nurturing relationships and managing accounts within an assigned U.S. territory. The ideal person will have experience in sales, especially within the public sector. Key responsibilities include: New Business Development; Relationship Building; Account Management; Strategic Planning; Attending Regional and National Tradeshows as necessary.
Remote: Position will cover all of the United States but ideally live near a major city/airport
Travel: Up to 75%
Target Pay: $82,705.00 - $103,381.00 per year (plus quarterly bonuses and an annual sales incentive)
General Responsibilities
- Generates sales within target market in the assigned region
- Participates in the development of the Cascade Carts Solutions sales plan
- Implements marketing strategies and plans
- Analyzes assigned territory for prospective sales
- Provides regular updates to Sales Manager
- Develops and maintains alliances to meet the stated business goals
- Contributes to the development and formalization of processes associated with development of new service offerings
- Assists with developing pricing strategies
- Develops and reports all sales plans and programs
- Utilizes marketing collateral and leverages the materials to achieve program goals
- Performs market research to support sales objectives
- Assists in assuring services meet/exceed needs of intended customers
- Leverage Prospecting and Networking to develop relationships with existing and potential customers
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, fully understanding their long-term goals and needs and tailoring solutions to meet their needs/requirements
- Meet or exceed quarterly and annual goals consistently
- Represent CE at industry trade shows, social gatherings, and networking events
- Develop marketing and sales plans, set objectives, and identify methods to reach goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional service
- Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives

- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of strategic selling experience
- Financial analysis experience
- Strong negotiation skills
- High level core competencies (interpersonal skills such as trustworthiness, balances courage and consideration, etc.)
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office automation tools
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across the organization

Preferred Education, Experience and Core Competency Requirements
- Municipal Sales experience
- Waste Industry experience
- Working knowledge of Bids/RFP’S
- Demonstrated knowledge of Procurement
