The College is interested in seeking candidates to teach Adjunct Faculty- CIS- Artificial Intelligence in the Winter 2026 semester at our downtown campus. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in general AI concepts, machine learning, and natural language processing. Experience in computer vision is not required but preferred. Candidates with a certification to teach online are strongly encouraged to apply

 

The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a commitment to student success, ensuring a high-quality learning experience for all students.

 

Adjunct needs are determined on a semester by semester basis, as are the number of sections offered each semester. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

• Teach courses required in the Artificial Intelligence curriculum, which may include:

• Introduction to Artificial Intelligence

• Machine Learning Fundamentals

• Natural Language Processing

• (Preferred) Computer Vision

• Maintain accurate course records and submit related reports as requested.

• Effectively assess student performance using varied evaluation methods.

• Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for students.

• Utilize multiple instructional strategies to facilitate learning, such as small group work, project-based learning, and interactive workshops.

• Incorporate current AI technologies, tools, and methods that enhance teaching and learning.

• Support the Department and College through activities and responsibilities normally expected of adjunct faculty members. Make reasonable accommodations as approved by the Disability Support Services to meet students' needs and in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

• Follow College policy on the Family Educational Right to Privacy Act (FERPA).

• Make all reasonable efforts to respond to communication in a timely manner and provide reasonable means for student access to course information.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

 

Qualifications

 

Required: The instructor must possess a Master Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Data Science, or Artificial Intelligence with demonstrated studies/work with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Advanced Algorithms. Professionally qualified through work experience in the field - Two years work experience in tech industry directly related to AI, Machine Learning, or Data Science.

Preferred: Certification to teach online (e.g., Quality Matters, ACUE, or equivalent).

• Participation in professional development and/or continuous improvement activities in order to remain current in the field.

• Knowledge and experience with general AI concepts, machine learning, and natural language processing.

• Experience with computer vision is preferred but not required.

• Successful teaching experience is preferred; community college teaching experience is a plus.

• Experience working with diverse adult learners, including those with varying academic preparation.

• Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development in AI and related technologies.

 

Skills

 

• Ability to integrate AI tools and platforms into instructional activities.

• Demonstrated expertise in the subject area and a commitment to continuous professional development.

• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population and faculty team.

• Proficiency in using instructional technology and learning management systems (e.g.,Gmail, Canvas, Blackboard).

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Must have the physical capacity for lifting up to 25 lbs.
