What You'll Do:

Novotny CPA Group is currently looking for an Audit Manager to join our team! In this role you will get to...

  • Build and create client relationships to grow the audit business as your own.
  • Focus on corporate audits, reviews, and compilations across many industries with a wide range of complexity, scale, and scope.
  • Develop an audit plan for assigned areas of responsibility including proper assessment and coverage of risks, including emerging risks.
  • Exercise critical thinking and judgment to effectively influence leadership to improve the control environment.
  • Work collaboratively with a team that serves accounting and audit clients (no NPO or government audits), taking responsibility for the pre-engagement planning, execution, and final deliverable product.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Active CPA license in Michigan
  • 4+ years of relevant audit experience
  • Supervisory, mentoring and counseling experience preferred
  • Advanced understanding of US GAAP and GAAS procedures and standards
  • Ability to effectively work with changing industry regulations, meet multiple deadlines with concurrent engagements, and understand internal control issues and concerns
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other team members
  • Demonstrate initiative, critical thinking, vision, resourcefulness, strategic mindset and lead and support change
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to multitask
