The Volunteer & Internship department is looking for someone to join our team for the 2024 season. We are a quickly growing department at John Ball Zoo and work with over 800 volunteers a year! We are seeking someone excited about the zoo environment that enjoys customer service, is friendly and outgoing, organized, and comfortable using computers. Our ideal candidate is a supportive, encouraging, and positive influence on the volunteer team.
Starting Pay: 14.25

Essential Duties
- Working within volunteer policies and procedures you will help with day-to-day communication, volunteer & staff questions, and data entry.
- Assist volunteers through the onboarding cycle including initial interest, application, orientation, and scheduling.
- Take a lead role in the Teen Volunteer Program that runs June - August. This would include assisting with recruitment, training, scheduling, supervision, evaluation, and recognition.
- Be an encouraging, supportive, and motivating role model for volunteers as they serve in mutually beneficial volunteer roles in support of the zoo’s mission.
- Please note that this position starts in February and runs through mid-November
What we require
- Must be able to work at least one weekend day a week June - mid-August
- Must be able to start in February and work through early November
- Must be 18+
