REPORTS TO: Assistant Director - Athletics for Communications
 
PAY: $1,000
 
SUMMARY:
 
This position is responsible for assisting with communication needs for the athletic department. These responsibilities are performed in an ethical manner consistent with the University's mission, vision, and cultural values which include diversity, equity, and inclusion.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
• Assist with game-day athletic communication responsibilities.
• Assist with updating and maintaining content on the web site.
• Assists in maintaining social media platforms associated with the athletic department.
• Assists in creating, maintaining, and updating files related to team statistics.
• Generate reports, memorandums, correspondence, presentation materials, spreadsheets and graphics, and other materials using various software programs.
• Assists with special events and functions as needed.
• Work cohesively with all athletic programs.
• Assist in administrative duties related to the athletic communications department.
• Understand and abide by all external and internal regulations and policies. This includes NCAA, GLIAC, and national affiliations associated with athletics or other role-specific regulations.
• Provides GREAT customer service, anticipating and exceeding the needs of our customers.
• Demonstrate and promote the University's Cultural Values.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
• Bachelor's degree preferred, High School Diploma required. Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
• Strong service-oriented skills and the ability to have an exceptional customer service attitude.
• Must be able to work and relate well with the public, students, faculty, and staff.
• Demonstrated ability to work accurately and effectively with computerized data systems (PC and mainframe).
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive working environment, spirit of cooperation, and positive reactions to change and conflict resolution.
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, both written and oral which transcend diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and relate well to students, parents, faculty, staff, and others while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
• Demonstrated motivational and problem-solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of the University.
• Business office/Outdoor environment. Prolonged sitting and standing. Use of personal computer and telephone (eye and hand strain). Ability to perform under stressful situations. Some travel between locations is required (own transportation).
• No regular lifting requirements, occasional lifting up to 75 pounds.
 
• Must be able to work an irregular schedule, evenings and/or weekends, additional hours during peak times, or as required.
