Summary of Position: | Support technical and functional elements of various administrative software applications for assigned area(s). Perform complex activities. Possess the latitude to apply skills to solve most problems without review and devise the approach and method to perform application administrator tasks. Assist leadership in the selection of varied technologies and make final determinations regarding technology based on objectives and specifications. Perform complex data analysis to ensure systems are compliant, reliable, and secure. |

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: | Master's degree Degree in Information Systems or related field Ability to write PL/SQL Experience supporting and administering enterprise level applications Familiarity with ERP software Familiarity with Relational Databases Familiarity with web scripting languages such as HTML, ColdFusion Familiarity with API Familiarity with Ellucian Banner Experience in a higher education environment |
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: | Creates and updates access permissions to maintain application security through user profile management. Monitors and maintains performance metrics for application features and recommends and takes corrective/preventive actions. Troubleshoots hardware, software, and system problems and resolves issues and questions by working with vendors. Participates in the evaluation of vendor software releases and impact. Coordinates and monitors updates and the installation of upgrades and patches. Recommends application enhancements or changes that may involve custom design, integrations, and third-party products. Participates in the design, development, and implementation of test and production objects. Defines user requirements and performs configuration, change management, and testing activities. Develops and maintains documentation related to the system. Communicates system enhancement or changes as needed. Plans and directs staff implementation of small to medium technical projects related to system as needed. Regularly communicates with internal leadership to assess efficacy of system and discuss improvements and new features. Assists other senior staff in developing strategic approaches to problem-solving and anticipating issues. May lead cross-functional project teams and may manage portions of the project lifecycle including requirements gathering, functional design, configuration, testing and documentation. Designs, develops, implements, and maintains ColdFusion applications. Designs, develops, implements, and maintains Banner job submission forms to streamline various department processes. Serves as a liaison by providing consultation, documentation, and direction to other areas regarding analysis, design, configuration, testing, and implementation within all systems. Writes SQL code to load ERP information into third party applications via approved methods. Provides guidance to lower-level staff in the maintenance, serviceability, problem resolution and overall health of enterprise applications. Any other duties assigned within the position classification area. Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members. |
Marginal Duties/Responsibilities: | Work closely with other IT staff at peak times for coverage of systems and services. Lift, move, and relocate computer network equipment. Other duties as assigned. |
Skills and Abilities: | Assists in the design, development, implementation, and administration of departmental and campuswide applications and systems. Assists in making recommendations for the selection of technology solutions to align with business strategies. Assists in mapping business processes using mapping methodologies. Provides procedural and technical guidance to functional areas regarding technology usage and management. Performs data analyses and reporting. Write queries and procedures in PL/SQL, requires experience with relational databases. Works to stay current on technologies in the field of information technology specifically in higher education. Attend conferences and report back key findings and initiatives seen amongst other vendors and industries. Experience supporting end users, vendors and other technicians regarding software break/fix and troubleshooting. Demonstrated commitment, experience and understanding for diversity, equity, and inclusion. |
