Summary of Position: | Tenure-track 12-month position as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Ferris State University College of Pharmacy. Individuals with experience in adult inpatient clinical pharmacy practice settings along with commitment to the teacher/scholar model and service are encouraged to apply. Primary responsibilities consist of establishing and maintaining an adult inpatient medicine or medicine subspecialty clinical pharmacy practice at an affiliated health system in the greater Grand Rapids, MI area with experiential and didactic teaching as key responsibilities. The individual will also be expected to develop individual or collaborative research consistent with the mission and vision of the College. Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, contributing to the Department, College, University and profession through participation on committees, continuing professional development, and mentoring students. The anticipated start date of this position is July 2024 at the earliest and January 2025 at the latest. |

Required Work Experience: | Post-graduate residency or at least 3 years of experience in adult inpatient clinical pharmacy practice |
Required Licenses and Certifications: | Current licensure to practice pharmacy in the State of Michigan (reciprocation acceptable but necessary at date of hire) |

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered: | Applicable board certification. Experience in higher education or precepting health care professional students. Post-graduate specialty residency or fellowship training. |
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: | Duties 1. Establish and maintain a clinical hospital practice in adult inpatient medicine or inpatient medicine subspecialty. 2. Precept assigned students in a required Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience. 3. Teach as part of a team and/or coordinate various academic courses using effective instructional technology and teaching methods that focus on active student engagement. 4. Collaborate with faculty on curriculum development, assessment, and quality assurance of assigned didactic and experiential courses. 5. Advise and mentor students. 6. Maintain posted office hours that are convenient for students. 7. Conduct scholarly activity and publish in professional journals. 8. Serve on College and University committees. 9. Pursue service and professional development activities. 10. Demonstrate an understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff and community members. 11. Maintain the highest level of ethical standards and confidentiality in the execution of all duties performed. 12. Any other duties assigned within the position classification area. Responsibilities 1. Faculty members also have professional responsibilities which may include advising students, orientation and registration of students, participation in University committees, keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance (ex. reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time). Faculty members may be required to teach off-campus or in an on-line environment. 2. Reports directly to the Department Chair of Pharmacy Practice 3.
