Summary of Position: • This is a tenure-track, 12-month position for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice in the Pharmacy Practice Department at Ferris State University College of Pharmacy.
• We encourage individuals to apply who have experience in ambulatory care practice settings and a strong commitment to student-centered education and the teacher/scholar model.
• Teaching responsibilities will include core courses in pharmacy practice skills, therapeutics, self-care, and pharmaceutical calculations at both the Big Rapids and Grand Rapids campuses.
• Candidates will also be expected to provide academic support and coordinate team-taught courses.
• Additionally, the successful candidate will be required to engage in ambulatory clinical practice at an established practice site.
• Engagement in individual or collaborative research projects, as well as scholarship involving student participation, will complement teaching responsibilities.
• Other duties will include contributing to the department, college, university, and profession through participation on committees, as well as providing professional advice, mentoring, and preceptorship to students.
• Ongoing professional development will also be expected.
• Courses are to be taught in person on one of Ferris State University's campuses. The candidate selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment and will perform duties at a Ferris site.
• The anticipated start date of this position is June of 2025 at the earliest and August of 2025 at the latest.
Position Type: Faculty - Temporary & Continuing
Required Education: • Pharm.D. from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)-accredited institution.
Required Work Experience: • Post-graduate residency or at least three years of experience in clinical pharmacy practice. • Associate Professor level candidates must demonstrate records of excellence in teaching and/or scholarship. Associate Professor level candidates must be tenured or eligible for tenure.
Required Licenses and Certifications: • Eligible for licensure to practice pharmacy in Michigan. State of Michigan Pharmacy licensure required prior to completion of appointment.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: • Teach and coordinate courses in the Pharm.D. program curriculum using effective instructional technology and teaching methods that focus on active student engagement, including team teaching environments.
• Candidate is expected to teach at both the Big Rapids and Grand Rapids campuses.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, assessment, and quality assurance of assigned coursework.
• Maintain posted office hours that are convenient for students.
• Advise and mentor students.
• Maintain a clinical practice in ambulatory care pharmacy and precept assigned experiential students.
• Staff and serve as a preceptor in the Ferris Pharmacy Care Clinic and/or Interprofessional Wellness Clinic.
• Engage in scholarly activity that is consistent with the teacher-scholar model and involves students.
• Publish scholarly work in professional journals.
• Serve on department, college, university, and professional committees.
• Pursue service and professional development activities.
• Demonstrate an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
• Maintain the highest level of ethical standards and confidentiality in all duties performed.
• Support, promote, and develop university student enrollment and retention initiatives.
• Faculty members also have professional responsibilities which may include advising students, orientation and registration of students, participation in university committees, keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students), and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance (ex. reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time).
• Faculty members may be required to teach off-campus or in an online environment.
• Report directly to the Department Chair of Pharmacy Practice.
• Maintain the confidentiality of designated information.
• Perform all duties in compliance with applicable university policies and procedures and state and federal requirements.
• Operates university motor or personal vehicles safely while carrying out job responsibilities.
• Any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
