The Department of Experiential Learning Coordinator will coordinate program specific events, communication strategies, and tracking of student engagement, with the goal of ensuring overall awareness and effective program participation. This role includes collaboration with both Academic and Student Affairs faculty and service areas as well as external stakeholders to aid in the facilitation of events, off-campus travel experiences, and co-curricular activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Collaborate with the Director of Experiential Learning to administer department programs, events and activities including but not limited to the Honors Program, Study Away, Service Learning, and College Sponsored Student Travel.
• Create and manage multiple processes and procedures specific to the work of the department to ensure smooth operation, adherence to institutional policies, and alignment with departmental goals. Including but not limited to: Honors Program application information, integration into honors-specific systems and platforms, student registration and processing of scholarships and stipends, tracking of honors project proposal and completion, overall tracking of honors student participation; Service Learning course registration information and tracking of service learning completion; Study Away application information and tracking of student paperwork and payments, tracking of Leave of Absences related to College Sponsored Student Travel and risk management information as well as end-of-semester faculty recognition.
• Design and lead comprehensive marketing and recruitment strategies and tactics.
• Develop and manage communication strategies, including eNewsletters, virtual meetings, websites, and other platforms, to maintain effective communication with students, faculty, external partners (e.g., international vendors), and campus departments.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute program-specific events, including orientations, student engagement activities, faculty and student recognition, and workshops.
• Track and monitor student progress across various programs, identify potential barriers to success, and develop strategies to address these barriers proactively. Provide data-driven reports on student outcomes and program effectiveness.
• Collaborate with various campus departments (e.g., Student Financial Services, Financial Aid, Registrar, Academic Deans' Offices and Departments, Teaching, Learning, and Distance Education (TLDE), UofM Transfer Bridges, Student Life and Conduct, Admissions, GRCC Foundation) to ensure smooth implementation of experiential learning programs and enhance cross-functional partnerships to support student success and program delivery.
• Works with the department staff on implementation of co-curricular assessment plans.
Be timely when responding to student and staff requests.
Participate as a member of College, Divisional, and Departmental teams or committees as requested or as mutually agreeable.
• Prioritize work effectively to ensure that tasks are completed within assigned deadlines.
Actively engage in professional development activities that reinforce existing skills and result in greater knowledge and efficiency in assigned work. This might include best practices in Honors education, knowledge of service learning and GRCC faculty/staff participation in service learning co-curricular activities, and knowledge of study away best practice including proposal development and approval, student support and overall risk management.
• Ensure that general and confidential filing is maintained in a system allowing for ready retrieval of program-specific records.
Attend staff meetings as directed by the Director of Experiential Learning.
Regular attendance during normally scheduled hours is required. Being present is essential for serving customers and performing the essential functions of this position.
• Carry out other tasks as needed and/or assigned by the Director of Experiential Learning in a collaborative, team-oriented manner.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education Credentials
• Bachelor's degree required
• Master's degree with a degree is preferred
Work Experience
• Two (2) or more years in the field of higher education is required, community college experience is preferred
• Prior experience with co-curricular planning, event coordination, student recruitment, and tracking is required
• Experience collaborating with faculty, staff, students, and community partners
• Experience supporting students in program participation and completion
• Experience with all aspects of programming including goal setting, project planning, implementation/logistics, evaluation, and reporting
• Experience with academic applications for various technologies (video conferencing, ePortfolios, learning management systems, etc.)
• Experience with the design of web- and print-based promotional materials, as well as use of social media platforms

• Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills
• High level of computer literacy, technological proficiency, and database management skills
• Collaborative problem-solving and critical thinking skills

• Event planning
• Excellent interpersonal communication (both oral and written) and group presentation skills.
• Ability to take direction, use discretion, and maintain a high degree of professionalism and responsiveness in daily interactions with a broad range of stakeholders
• Knowledge of FERPA guidelines. Understanding and ability to maintain confidentiality
