STATUS: Part Time



DEPARTMENT: Student Financial Services

LOCATION: Grand Rapids - W.A. Lettinga Campus

REPORTS TO: Accounts Receivable Manager

SUMMARY:

The primary focus of this position is to assist with the various areas within Accounts Receivable while ensuring that transactions are performed in accordance with University and Federal Government guidelines. These responsibilities are performed in an ethical manner consistent with the University's mission, vision, and values which include diversity, equity and inclusion.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Communicate with students by phone and email.
• Process student and general accounts receivable payments.
• Processes invoices and payments within the guidelines of university and federal regulations.
• Audits student accounts and works with the Student Financial Services staff to resolve account issues.
• Assist the accounts receivable staff with collections, refunds and third party billing functions.
• Understand and abide by all external and internal regulations and policies. This includes NCAA, GLIAC and national affiliations associated within athletics or other role specific regulations.
• Provides GREAT customer service, anticipating and exceeding the needs of our customers.
• Demonstrate and promote the University Cultural Values.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma is required.
• One or more years related experience and/or training.
• Demonstrated positive organizational and technical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, develop goals, meet deadlines, and accomplish goals while prioritizing workloads.
• Demonstrative ability to work accurately and effectively with financial data and computerized systems (PC and mainframe).
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive working environment, spirit of cooperation and positive reactions to change and conflict resolution.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and relate well to students, parents, faculty, staff, and others while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both written and oral which transcends to diverse audiences.
• Must be highly motivated and solution oriented with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of the university.
• Business office environment. Prolonged sitting and standing. Use of personal computer and telephone (eye and hand strain). No regular lifting requirements, occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to work an irregular schedule, evenings or Saturday as needed, additional hours during peak times or as required.
