Location: Grand Rapids, MI. W.A. Lettinga Campus
Department: Athletics
Pay: $40,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year
Summary of The Role:

This position will oversee all athletic ticketing operations, assist with oversight of on and off-site athletic events, while adding support in; scheduling, technical system troubleshooting, and game operations. This position will assist in the supervision of student employees, contract workers, and support the operation's maintenance, safety, and upkeep of all athletic facilities and equipment. These responsibilities are performed in an ethical manner consistent with the University's mission, vision, and values, which include diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Responsibilities:

• Oversee all online and box office ticketing operations including but not limited to coordinating with external ticketing vendors and communicating with athletic teams on their complimentary ticket needs.
• Oversight of ticketing sales reports and financial breakdowns from all home athletic events.
• Assisting in game day administrative management for on and off-site athletic events.
• Assisting in planning, preparation, and oversight of assigned internal and external events.
• Assists in scheduling the use of all athletic facilities under established policy and procedures.
• Administrative and hands-on service role in assisting and delegating the preparation and execution of practices and games/events for the athletic department
• Oversees the coordination of all internal and external camps hosted at the student center and athletic facilities.
• Maintains responsibility for preseason facility and equipment checks before each season.
• Monitors and maintains the facility's technical systems, equipment, and building appearance.
• Management of the day-to-day operations of the Student Center and assisting with Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex operations when needed.
• Troubleshooting of sound systems, scoreboards, and other technical equipment.
• Arranges and oversees repairs and upkeep of equipment, including proper set-up, storage, and plans for replacement.
• Procurement of backup systems for parts, gear, accessories, systems, and other equipment.
• Performs and oversees select athletic field and grounds care items.
• Assists in ensuring adequate student staffing for athletic events and facilities, as well as hiring, training, and supervision of student staff.
• Understand and abide by all external and internal regulations and policies. This includes NCAA, GLIAC, and national affiliations associated with athletics or other role-specific regulations.
• Provides GREAT customer service, anticipating and exceeding the needs of our customers.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of management and/or supervision experience required.
• Knowledge of all proper safety procedures and regulations as related to this position.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; self-motivated and directed in individual work assignments, and ability to meet deadlines and accomplish goals.
• Ability to handle emergencies calmly and efficiently.
• Demonstrated ability to work accurately and effectively with computerized data systems and other technical systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and promote a positive working environment, spirit of cooperation, and positive reactions to change and conflict resolution.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, both written and oral, which transcend diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and relate well to students, parents, faculty, staff, and others while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
• Demonstrated motivational and problem-solving capabilities with a high degree of integrity, ethics, and dedication to the mission of the university.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background investigation including but not limited to: standard criminal background check and employment reference checks. Select positions may be subject to drug/alcohol screening.
• Must be able to work an irregular schedule, evenings and weekends as needed, additional hours during peak times or as required for emergencies.
• Business office environment. Prolonged sitting and standing. Use of computer and telephone (eye and hand strain).
• Some travel between locations is required (own transportation).
• No regular lifting requirements, occasional lifting up to 75 lbs.
