Position Summary:
This position is a visionary leader who positions the Center as a global thought leader by partnering healthcare professionals and patients in the critical work of transforming the culture and practice environment to promote the best places to give and receive care. This position develops strategic partnerships and scholarly offerings, which in turn foster innovation and research at the point of care. This role must possess an authentic spirit of connectedness to the Center's mission and vision, including the Core Beliefs and the Clinical Practice Model Framework on which the Center is anchored.
This position promotes interprofessional education and practice; supports the advancement of innovation in practice settings; and fosters meaningful interprofessional engagement initiatives. This role in collaboration with the KCON leadership team, develop, execute, and evaluate the Center's strategic and financial plans, projects, and tactics, including a plan for marketing and funding to ensure the Center's sustainability and growth. This position collaborates with various divisions across campus from University Communications to University Development on communication and philanthropic plans to increase visibility and raise support for the Center. Additional responsibilities for the position include mentorship of faculty and students; teaching in some Center sponsored educational and workshop offerings and providing assistance in related scholarly writing.
This position will start as a 0.75 FTE (30 hours per week) with the intent of moving to a 1.0 FTE as the Center activities and income grow.
Salary & Benefits:
• Minimum starting salary of $69,000, commensurate with experience

Primary Duties:
• Provide creative leadership and operational oversight for the Center's strategic and financial plans and special projects.
• Conduct comprehensive needs assessments inclusive of diverse interprofessional caregivers and patients to ensure Center offerings include what matters most, are timely, and well positioned to address emerging themes in healthcare.
• Facilitate translation of needs assessment findings into the development and implementation of innovative offerings designed to support healthcare professionals in giving their best care in a manner that increases job satisfaction and quality care.
• Promote innovation within interprofessional clinical teams through offerings designed to share best practices that promote care improvement.
• Establish a presence for the Center by leveraging technology to connect with global audiences via social media platforms including partnerships with podcasts and blogs designed to engage healthcare professionals.
• Contribute to developing partnerships within KCON, GVSU, and the wider community, taking initiative to engage community members and university representatives to further the Center's goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with KCON faculty regarding incorporation of Polarity thinking and other related content in KCON courses and programs.
• Provide support for the Wesorick Center's Advisory Board with the intent to seek guidance and feedback on the Center's strategic direction, outcomes, and relevance in meeting the needs of interprofessional care teams and patients served.
• Identify and advance opportunities for the development of revenue streams that will ensure the financial sustainability of the Center, including development of a business plan, funding proposals, and partnerships between businesses, philanthropies, or external entities to support the work of the Center.
• Collaborate with KCON leaders and GVSU partners, including University Development on communication about and promotion of the Center and fund-raising opportunities.
• Provide an annual report of Center activities, accomplishments, goals, and financial stability. Perform other duties as required/assigned by leadership.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Master's of Science Degree or earned doctorate in a healthcare related field from an accredited institution.
• A dynamic individual with a related background in the provision of healthcare, healthcare education, and/or healthcare leadership with relevant state-of-the art knowledge of health care systems, interprofessional collaboration, and a knowledge of current challenges and opportunities in the health care environment.
• Awareness of polarity thinking and expertise in the skill of dialogue.
• An inquisitive, visionary leader with demonstrated leadership skills, including accountability, priority-setting, organization, conflict management, creativity, innovation and a record of delivering timely results.
• Demonstrated ability to foster a nurturing, inclusive culture.
• Experience with project and program planning and management and professional education.
• Strong oral, written, and online communication skills, including public speaking, the ability to communicate the message of the Center to diverse populations, and the ability to utilize technology to engage with global audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective internal and external partnerships with individuals and organizations.
• Capable of working independently in an academic setting.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Experience planning and conducting research, evidence-based practice, and other scholarly endeavors.
• Experience in promoting health policy.
• Experience that has afforded an opportunity to understand entrepreneurial skills, business model design, and systems thinking.
