This position is responsible for recruiting undergraduate students to Grand Valley State University, with an emphasis on those transferring from another institution. This professional will execute and provide feedback to help shape a comprehensive recruitment plan that enhances current practices, while identifying new events, systems, and processes to engage prospective students.

 

This position will be responsible for a recruitment territory focused on FTIAC and transfer applicants and be a subject matter expert on transfer students. They will also work closely with leadership to establish and implement a recruitment plan focused on military-connected students. The Admissions team uses Slate as a CRM to track prospects, recruits, and admits. Flexibility for scheduling early, late, and weekend office hours is required to accommodate programming needs.

 

Salary & Benefits:

 

$51,000 - $55,000, commensurate with experience

Primary Duties:

 

• Represent the University by meeting virtually or in person with prospective students to conduct admission interviews or information sessions.

 

• Establish and maintain internal and external relationships to generate prospective student inquiries and applications for admission to the university.

 

• Assist with the development and implement comprehensive recruitment plans for transfer and military-connected students.

 

• Develop and manage relationships with individual prospects utilizing appropriate sales, marketing, and client lead techniques.

 

• Provide recruiting support for information sessions, open houses, and other recruitment efforts.

 

• Execute a travel plan to visit specific fairs and assigned schools to increase applicants of FTIAC, transfer, and military-connected students.

 

• Analyze prospect and admissions data to further inform the recruitment process.

 

• Outreach with diverse populations.

 

• Perform other duties as required/assigned by leadership.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

 

• Bachelor's degree.

 

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in customer service, recruitment, education, sales, or related field.

 

• Strong cross-cultural skills.

 

• Strong presentation, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

 

• Commitment to GVSU's vision of inclusion and equity.

 

• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to remote locations and to load and transport admissions materials, displays and other equipment.

 

• Ability to work evening and weekend hours required throughout the year, especially during the fall travel season.

 

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:

 

• Higher education experience.

 

• Experience with customer relationship management systems (CRM).

 

• Networking experience with professional association and the business community.

 

• Experience developing and managing recruitment events and programs.

 

• Experience working with transfer and military-connected students in a college or university setting.

 

• College/university admissions experience or experience working with middle school or high school audiences.

 

• Bilingual in Spanish.

 

Working Conditions:

 

• Normal office environment.

 

• Some evening and weekend work is required at various times throughout the year.

 

• Extensive travel is required.
