WORK LOCATION: Grand Rapids, MI - W.A. Lettinga Campus

DEPARTMENT: Public Safety

TARGET HIRING PAY: $17.50 per hour
The Role:

Davenport is in search of a Public Safety Officer who is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the Davenport university staff, faculty and students. This individual will have the ability to forge relationships with DU community while exhibiting exceptional customer service. Officers will be prepared to take immediate action to protect the safety of our community members.
You Will:

• Conduct regular and requested patrols on campus by vehicle and on foot.
• Respond to and investigate incidents on campus such as emergencies, violations of state law, Title IX and VAWA, or other violations of university policy while exercising discretion and understanding that most complaints will be handled through the Office of Student Affairs.
• Write detailed and accurate reports regarding your activity on campus.
• Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with other university departments.
• Support event functions and be willing to work overtime for events such as Athletics, Academics, or Student Life.
• Work 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. 3 days a week and work an irregular schedule such as overnights, weekends, and overtime shifts.

Awesome if You Have:

• Associates Degree preferred and/or are currently enrolled or on course to be enrolled in an MCOLES or PA330 training program.

Extra Awesome If You Have:

• 3-5 years of security experience at a similar sized institution.
• Previous Campus Safety or Law Enforcement experience.
• Previous experience with Title IX investigations.
• Previous experience with Emergency Management Operations.
