Pay: 12-14/hr

REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Career Services

Organization Mission Overview:

The Community Basket is a newly created food pantry serving the Dutton, Caledonia, and Gaines

Township areas; formerly Community Services of Dutton. In late November an emergency meeting was

called of the existing board and concerned community members. The former pantry was in financial and

staffing trouble and had proposed closing the doors on the pantry unless another group could fund and

keep it in operation.

JOB SUMMARY:

? Review and work on fundraising list of donors to develop a devoted and committed list of local

industry and community/private donors who are focused on bringing nutritious food to the local

community

? Research and identify grant opportunities that Community Food Basket can seek through United

Way, Feeding America and other grant and government funding sources

? Research philanthropic businesses in the locations we operate would specifically look

for those who seek to end hunger, help children, and familiesProviding information to

secure sponsorships for videos or events or maybe lead to a general fund donation to

our mission.

? Research and gather information and pertinent links and documents for grant

opportunities in all the areas we serve.

? Create Facebook and other social media posts promoting the strong community based good

works of Community Basket

? Plan and send appreciation to donors and give recognition to donor partners and partnerships

? Community Outreach: Encourage volunteerism and contributions of time with in local

organizations to ensure the manpower needed to sort, house, package and distribute food is

staffed
